About Me
Skylar Kim is an award-winning filmmaker and producer who grew up in the U.S. and South Korea.
Skylar directed DEARBORN, a 30-minute pilot for the NYU Advanced Television Department. The program only selects two projects a year and was awarded a $10,000 grant from NYU Tisch. The pilot was an Official Selection for the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) in 2025. Her films have been screened at NYU student film festivals and the Museum of the Moving Image. Her screenplays were selected as finalists for the Los Angeles Asian Film Awards, Ivy Film Festival, and Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival. As a producer, her projects were awarded the 2021 HEAR US Award and the 2021-2022 NYU Tisch Student Producers Grant.
Skylar studied Film & TV at NYU Tisch School of the Arts (with a minor in English Literature and Entertainment Business). She was recently a development intern at Protozoa Pictures (Darren Aronofsky). Prior to that, she was a Historical Research Intern for two upcoming Apple TV+ productions, PACHINKO and THE WHITE DARKNESS (Soo Hugh).
