DEARBORN is a half hour sci-fi dramedy pilot created by Leila Bustami and is premiering at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth 2025. The project is one of two Advanced-level TV projects chosen by the NYU Television Department for a $10,000 grant. Dearborn is sponsored by AFMI’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program, an initiative designed to support Arab and Arab-American filmmakers and film projects that advance AFMI’s mission.

When a young woman is expelled from college and forced to return home to her tight-knit Arab community in Dearborn, Michigan, she tries to restore her reputation and regain her mother's trust. However, complications arise when she becomes entangled in an alien conspiracy initiated by an eccentric woman residing in the building.
